The image at the right
shows our
leader, Shirley Forbes, while next one
down shows the whole team: from left to
right, Shirley Forbes, Fred Rutherford,
Lois and Scott Urquhart, Joyce Wilson, and Dale
and Neva Woerner.
Shirley retired from the Colorado State Highway Patrol after 40+ years of service as an administrative assistant and disaster public relations person. Joyce works at the blood bank of the Greeley Hospital. Fred recently retired from being a social worker with Colorado Department of Social Services, and now sometimes works for them part time. Dale retired from the Chemistry Department at the University of Northern Colorado in 1986. Scott retired from New Mexico Stare University in 1991, and from Oregon State University in 2001; he now works part-time in the Statistics Department of Colorado State University. Neva and Lois both raised large families. All are members of the First United Presbyterian Church in Greeley, except for Joyce, who is a close friend of Shirley’s. They went to Tanzania nearly a year earlier. Their experiences then greatly influenced what we did on this trip. All of these
people have been
involved in various Christian endeavors
throughout their lives. Thus we had
devotions almost every day. Our guides
(bottom image), Abraham (left) and Karashi, are shown
beside one of our vehicles. They also are
Christians, who are active in their
respective churches, and participated in
our devotions. Return to Main Navigation Page |
